Nigerian sprinter Blessing Okagbare has been banned for 10 years for doping and refusing to co-operate with the investigation, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) said on Friday.
The 33-year-old, sprinter, was expelled from the Tokyo Olympics last year before the women’s 100m semi-finals after testing positive for human growth hormone at an out-of-competition test in Slovakia on July 19.
She was handed a 5 year ban for the presence and use of prohibited substances and another 5 year ban for her refusal to co-operate with the investigation.
This was revealed by The Athletics Integrity Unit and Disciplinary Tribunal in their news broadcast.
